Course work will be divided into four multi-week projects that will be completed sequentially over the semester. Each project is built around achieving a specified objective through laboratory work and culminates in a thorough written analysis in your lab notebook. As you work through each project, a variety of assignments will help you learn about new laboratory techniques or methods of data analysis. Upon completing these assignments, you should be prepared to apply the newly acquired skills to the project objective (and to use them in future projects).
You will complete laboratory work in a 2-person team for all projects. However, all submitted work (e.g, lab notebooks, prelab quizzes, workshops) must be completed individually. You and your lab partner will work together to share your findings for Project 4 with the class in the form of an oral presentation.
