Buddhism is very close to my own personal philosophy; very low-key, straightforward and dedicated to helping people without ideology or selfish motives. I suppose this is partially because I was influenced by the TV show Kung Fu when I was a kid– Caine was one of my strongest role models.
It’s always refreshing to hear this nice man speak of things that should be so obvious to everybody at this point, and yet are still so rare in the world. It’s sad to think that he may never get to go home. At least not in this lifetime.
One of the reasons I think the Dalai Lama is an effective and influential leader is because of his tolerance. His acknowledgment and encouragement for other religions and points of view is what gives him credibility with a wide range of people, as well as his attitude that his religion should line up with the facts.
I respect the Dalai Lama, and I’m glad he was covered as a hero in this blog.
The layout for your website is a bit off in internet explorer 6. Nonetheless I like your blog. I may have to download "firefox" browser just to enjoy it.
I feel offended when you say Tibet is an independent political country. It belongs to China with no doubt!! He may be a hero in some way but at some points, I strongly disagree with you.
I enjoyed being educated on this matter I find it fascinating that there have only bean 14 Dalai Lama’s in this span of time. I also find it interesting how they select the next What an honor!
The Dalai Lama’s commitment and dedication to achieving freedom and peace for his people and for the whole world is truly inspiring. If we all strive to live by his philosophy of kindness, compassion and tolerance, the world could truly be a better place.
