This photo is of a sinkhole that occurred early this year in Guatemala . The hole swallowed a dozen homes and killed at least 3 people.

  1. It was interesting to see that the most devastating natural disasters included sinkholes. I expected landslides and especially earthquakes to be listed after talking about the Haiti and Chilean earthquake in class, but not sinkholes. I found the sinkholes like the one in Florida very interesting and odd. I also liked learning about the strange things that occur with nature prior to disasters like the colors in the sky as well as the mass amounts of toads swarming streets right before the earthquake in China; nonetheless, the website really captured how powerful mother nature is and how processes like the movement of tectonic plates can lead to devastation.
