Solving Problems/Improving Leadership

Meeting Goals and problem solving

Every week we meet as a Tuckernuck team to go over everything that happened the previous week as well as what we are looking at for the week ahead. This includes numbers, sales, marketing, shooting, product uploads and edits, marketing, content, customer service, returns, the stores performance, what is coming into the studio that week and what will be newly available to sell. We also look at our goals day-to-month, week-to-date, and year-to-date. This week we noticed some problems. Our traffic was up, but conversion was low and for the first time in a few months had not met or exceeded our intended goal. During the meeting we discussed potential reasons why this might have been the case and how we could go about fixing the problem. There were a few things I noticed. First was that no blame was placed on any one person or department, the second was that there more intense focus on improving rather than dwelling on the fact that our goal was not met, and the third was that everyone spent the rest of the day (and has continued to do this throughout the week) tweeking things to make sure everything is optimized. We re-merchandized products and collections, photo editors touched up photos, different ads went out, buyers looked at individual products and what was converting and not converting and pulled some reports on why that may be happening, and we decided to do a couple more mini shoots to highlight some pieces we believed may have been passed over. I worked with the buyers to go over the merchandise and put together some reports. I worked on the mini shoots and then helped re merchandise the catalogues and collections on the website. I really got to see how tuckernuck problem solves and how to approach a problem at all different angels and it was really interesting to keep up with all of the reports to see you how changes were impacting sales and traffic
