Week 3

I was able to drive down to D.C. and interview one of the SLI alumni.  It was great to see her insights on the organization.  I was able to see the effect the organization had on the students.  She gave me great insight as well on Dr. Kaufman as a leader.  According to her he is exceptionally devoted and wise.  According to her he is the strong center of the organization and provides the back bone of the organization as well as a strong moral center.  He has effected many of the students and influenced them to pursue better jobs, and many of them have continued to pursue the activism for immigration rights.  It is clear that Kaufman has greatly affected the kids in a way beyond providing them a path toward higher education.

The video I produced is on the SLI website it’s about seven minutes long.  It’s pretty low in production value so I hope to do better next time.
