Response 2 – The Grind
As an artist I find myself out of my comfort level often as the PR person for my organization. However, I do like adding new tools to my kit. One such tool is website building. I’ve been tasked by my supervisor with building a website. While Dr. Kaufman has repeatedly said that anything at all is okay, the perfectionist within will except no such thing. While I do find it extremely difficult and frustrating, many complications have arisen, creating an official organization email, facebook, instagram, youtube. As well as building everything from the ground up as the the most qualified person in the organization to do what I was doing as well as being completely unqualified in every sense of website building. Despite the many, many set backs, I was finally able to create a rough draft for a relatively professional website.
I was also able to add to my portfolio, as part of my research I’ll be doing a series of video interviews, I’ve completed my first one.
The website is looking good, though I might change the highlighted (linked) text to another color other than yellow – that is a bit difficult to see. But really nice work. Same with the video. I’m glad you’ll have some tangible evidence of your work that can be part of your portfolio! I encourage you to consider the way in which your leadership studies informs your projects – decisions you make, content you include, ways in which you operate with those around you, etc. Such reflections will be helpful for the academic assignments this fall.
