Book Launch: Becoming A Conscious Business
The main focus for myself and much of Cavi Consulting for this past week has been working on the launch of the company’s new book. Co-founder and Principal Process Scientist for Cavi, Sam Chin, is releasing his book next week and much of the book is aimed at drawing attention to Cavi’s unique view on process improvement. His book, “Becoming A Conscious Business:Expand Your Work & Life Through The Science Of Energy Flow”, focuses on how energy flow is tightly connected to process improvement. However, the content of the book isn’t the main focus of my work over the past week or so.
My first job on this project was to create the copyright page for the book. This meant I had to acquire ISBN numbers for the book and then register each number with the different mediums the book is being released through, ie. e-Book, Audio book, paperback, etc. Next, I had to apply for a Library of Congress Control Number for the book so that it can be displayed in libraries around the country. Once I obtained this number and finished the copyright page of the book, my next task was to work on publicity for the book.
The different means of publicity for this book included posting about it on Facebook, Linkedin, and any other platforms that we are active on. Next, I rated and reviewed the book on Amazon and any other platforms the book is being sold through. Finally, I submitted a quote to be included on either the back cover of the book or to be used in other promotional material for the book.
Wow, so is the quote for the back of the book attributed to you? (if so, that’s cool) Sounds like you had some significant responsibility associated with the release of this book; work that would not necessarily be part of one’s portfolio working with a consulting company – so that’s exciting. I’m sure navigating some of these processes (e.g. Library of Congress, etc.) was somewhat laborious and cumbersome. Perhaps there might be an opportunity when you can share with colleagues/the company insights regarding their unique process through the lens of your leadership studies?!
