Hefty Contributions

One of the best parts about my internship is my ability to directly contribute to the business and final product. Since I am one of the only employees at the company, I am entrusted with a lot of different responsibilities and tasks. The most major contribution that comes to mind, although there have been many, is the survey I designed a couple weeks ago to get customer feedback. My boss trusted me to design a survey, which I have had a lot of experience with through class projects and assignments.

The survey was made up of 6 questions, all worded by me. The more difficult part was distributing the survey in a way that would maximize responses by customers. I had to create a professional email that made it easy and simple for customers to take the survey. My boss was very pleased with the high number of survey responses that we received and even praised me for my work. I then put the data into a presentation for my boss and his partner so we could draw some conclusions from the numbers. Although we have not directly acted on any of our survey responses yet, we have talked about what the survey implies and things that we will need to work on in the future.

For example, we asked customers what they though of the company name “Fresh Bowl” and received mixed feedback. My bosses’ partner suggested we all sit down to discuss what we can do about the name. Another question asked about taste and we received highly satisfactory feedback indicating we did not need to change the recipe anymore.

More recently, we were searching for a creative designer to make a video for the screen on our vending machine. I actually reached out to my cousin to help us with the work and it looks like he will be the person we use to make the display screen. It is really rewarding to see my actions directly impact the company in a positive way. I hope to gain more responsibility in the fututre and continue to help the company grow.
