Podcast #1: Slow Journalism with Don Belt

By Noah Goldberg

In this inaugural podcast, I sit down with Don Belt, the former chief foreign correspondent for National Geographic and a professor at the University of Richmond. We discuss the UR Home Stories project that his Slow Journalism course is creating, its origins with Paul Salopek’s Out of Eden Walk (a National Geographic project), the current media landscape during the COVID-19 pandemic and much more. Belt draws from his experiences traveling to more than 80 countries as a writer and editor to help explain the current crisis and why Slow Journalism is more important now than ever. Make sure to follow the podcast on Twitter (@URHomeStories) and Don (@dbelt50)! You can reach us at URHomeStories@gmail.com as well!
