BioShock Infinite Soldier Field to meeting Daisy (Shanay)

Well the game is starting the get much more intense, the enemies are getting a lot harder to beat and there seems to be more variety on the types of enemies. The game gets a lot darker than when you are roaming around Columbia in the broad daylight. This section is set at night and most of the fighting is indoors. The fighting in the small exhibits were pretty cool and they were extremely well detailed and designed. The few jump scares that pop up as you are navigating through just show how much work was put in by the game developers. You are introduced to slate, a man who despises Comstock as he believes he rewrote his own entire history. Both Booker and Elizabeth get more powerful in this section, booker gains two new vigors and a wide array of different gun options, while Elizabeth is now able to open tears to aid you in fighting and she tosses you money health and ammunition. Elizabeth also shows that she can pick locks which allow you go further on or even pick safes. It makes sense the game gets so much harder when the characters themselves get stronger. An example of a stringer character is the patriot, that thing was hard to beat, he had unlimited rounds in his minigun, was quick and had so much health. I kept trying to hit him in the back, it just never helped!

One thing that came as a shock to me is that Elizabeth is Comstock’s daughter! Why would he keep her locked up like that, and why did he never tell her. This just creates more confusion about what Comstock was trying to do with “the specimen” in her holding pen.

I was also confused as to why Comstock would keep Elizabeth hostage if she is his daughter. If he indeed wants her to take over Columbia upon his death, why wouldn’t he mentor her, teach and show her all the “wonders” of Columbia? Besides the fact that he is a psychotic racist, Comstock clearly has a lot of secrets to be revealed. I think that he is somehow personally related to Booker due to the whole “Antichrist” thing, but I’m just generally excited to see where the game will take us.

I completely agree with the confusion about Comstock and the relationship with Elizabeth. It is very strange and I could not see any normal person treating their daughter like that. However, obviously Comstock is not a normal person so maybe that is why. I would also like to touch on how the setting has really changed as Shanay touched on with the changing setting going from really bright/goldish environment to a darker environment.

I was just as astonished by the fact that Elizabeth was Comstock’s daughter, but she has become much more useful to us than him at this point. Her ability to open tears has saved my butt in low health, ammo, and vigor situations. Not to mention I adore Shock Jockey and its ability to jump across multiple targets once upgraded. The only thing worse than the Patriots are the Handymen in my eyes, but both are quite annoying either way. A lot is getting thrown our way right now, and it just seems like things are ramping up.

I had forgotten this since playing the game when I was 12, but it was a familiar surprise that Elizabeth is Comstock’s daughter. I started to piece it together through listening to the Voxophones and reading the different writings on the walls.
