In this section, we will be covering the background and characteristics of R&B and EDM in order to exemplify the unique qualities from each genre that get combined into Kygo’s remix of “Higher Love.” Then, we will make connections between the two and discuss how EDM technology is utilized to reinvigorate and revitalize the older R&B version of “Higher Love” into a successful EDM song.
