E-mail within Blackboard is again available

The send e-mail feature within the Blackboard system is again operational, and there are no anticipated future outages.

E-mail within Blackboard is currently down

The e-mail option within the Blackboard system is currently not operational.  We are working to fix the issue, and will update this message when it has been restored.

Update: the e-mail option was again available by Thursday, 3am.

Blackboard outage scheduled for Monday, 3/8

Blackboard will be down from 8 p.m. until about 11p.m. on Monday, March 8. We’ve scheduled the outage for spring break in an effort to minimally impact your courses. Please plan accordingly. Check this blog on Monday night for updates as to when Blackboard is back up.

Problems uploading files while using Firefox 3.5.x now fixed

Some students have reported seeing error messages when trying to upload files to a Blackboard assignment using Firefox version 3.5.x for the PC. Information Services is working with Blackboard to obtain a fix for this problem and that fix should be available soon.  For the short term, Firefox users are asked to try using Internet Explorer instead if you run into this problem (Chrome, Opera, and Safari for Windows are not supported on Blackboard).

Update: This problem has been fixed.  Please contact blackboard@richmond.edu if you experience any difficulties.

Timed Assessments is Now Working for IE8

After executing a remedy for the timed assessments issue mentioned in earlier posts, our testing indicates that the problem has been solved.  If any students continue to notice an issue in an elapsed timer box that impedes submitting an assessment from IE8, please contact blackbaord AT richmond DOT edu .
