I was honored to attend Maddie’s wedding to another chemistry department alum at the start of June. Maddie was one of my first research students helping to set up the lab, establish protocols, and even getting a first-author paper for her work on the MEMO project. Since graduation, she has earned a masters degree from University of Maryland at College Park and has been working as a report writer and, most recently, toxicologist, at Inotiv. We were seated at a table with some of Maddie’s current coworkers and listening to them speak about her as an organized, motivated scientist just made me beam with pride. Seeing students find a passion and life their lives is one of the best parts of this job.
It was a beautiful day in the Virginia mountains and wonderful to celebrate Maddie and Campbell. Congratulations you two!
