For each keyword we cover in class, read the assigned text, then write a response of about 150-200 words in which you identify an example of that keyword as a lens or method in media, culture, or your own experience. Add your response as a new post on our course blog. Be sure to add the appropriate Keyword as a category to the post, and add a few tags that describe the general themes of your response. Wherever possible, provide a link to the example in your response. Responses are due on Thursdays by class time (12pm) unless otherwise noted in the course outline.
After Thursday’s class, read your classmates’ responses and reply to at least 2 of them in comments of about 100 words. Use the comment feature on responses to add your comments. Replies should make some sort of statement about the response: agreement or disagreement (always explaining why); confirming or asking questions (always with respect); offering a similar or completely different example; or otherwise affirming the ideas in the original post. Replies shouldn’t be inflammatory, mean spirited, or contrarian; instead, they should be thoughtful, helpful, and contributory. Replies are due the following Tuesdays by class time (12pm) unless otherwise noted in the course outline.
