13th Gallery Lecture

The 13th Wheeler Gallery Lecture will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 5 pm in the Brown-Alley Room, preceded by a reception at the gallery (Humanities 419) beginning at 4 pm. We are thrilled to host prominent Egyptologist and public scholar Kara Cooney (Professor of Egyptian Art and Architecture and Chair of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA) for a lecture on the topic of her 2018 book, When Women Ruled the World: Six Queens of Egypt. 

Annual Gallery Lecture and Reception

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the new Ancient World Gallery will open for a reception at 4:30 pm, before the Twelfth Annual Stuart L. Wheeler Gallery Lecture at 6 pm: “The Truth About Cats and Dogs: Pets in Ancient Greek Art,” by Dr. Tyler Jo Smith, Professor of Art History at the University of Virginia.

Ancient World Gallery Opening

Join us in Spring 2022 Monday-Friday from 10am-12pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm to view artifacts and antiquities from ancient Mediterranean and Near East civilizations, including the mummy and coffin of Ti-Ameny-Net.
