A Path to War: Global Citizen Storymap by Jason
The most pivotal and defining moment of my life is when I joined the U.S. Army in 2008. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I was prepared for change. My experiences are not kin to overly dramatic war movies, yet if you ask any Veteran about their war they’ll all almost tell you the same thing, “Every war is different, and every war is the same.” War is the peak of political violence inflicted upon the other. Someone whom those directly involved neither know by name nor have likely even met before exchanging death. My narrative expresses how my travels in service to the U.S. Army shaped me as global citizen.
