El video describe el taller SIG del Grupo Geográfico Transfronterizo de la Amazonía Sud-Occidental (GTASO) en Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios, Perú, el 1 a 5 de julio 2019. El equipo GTASO (27 participantes de 18 instituciones de Perú, Brasil, y los EEUU) produjeron 5 mapas temáticos mostrando las dinámicas socio-ambientales de la Amazonía Sud-Occidental compartida entre Perú y Brasil. El taller recibió financiamiento del Instituto PanAmericano de Geografía e Historia (IPGH), la University of Richmond, y la Universidad Nacional del San Antonio de Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC). El video es producido por Gabi Williams.

This video follows the GTASO GIS Workshop held in Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios, Peru. The week-long workshop was held between July 1 to July 5, 2019 and the team (27 participants from 18 institutions from Brazil, Peru, and the USA) produced a suite of thematic maps (referenced in the video), which show various socio-environmental dimensions of the Southwestern Amazon shared by Brazil and Peru. The workshop was funded by the PanAmerican Institute of Geography and History, the University of Richmond, and the National University of San Antonio Abad – Cusco.
