There is a known issue where sending an email from within the Grade Center produces an error. We are working with Blackboard on this issue. Until a solution is in place you should use the email feature found under course tools or under the tools area.

Blackboard will be unavailable for an outage October 10th beginning at 10 PM this Friday. This outage is necessary to apply security updates to our servers. Please know the system will not be available between 10PM and 6:00 AM and no changes will be made to course content. If you have any questions or problems, please contact blackboard@richmond.edu.
Today Blackboard experienced an hour long outage due to an unexpected error. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused our users. The system is not back up and we are looking into the cause for the outage.
