Law.com provides in-depth business and financial information on individual law firms, law schools and the legal industry. The kind of content available includes ALM Law Firm Reports; ALM Lists and Rankings taken from various ALM Media publications including The American Lawyer (AmLaw 100 and AmLaw 200) and The National Law Journal; and ALM Surveys & Studies examining key issues impacting the legal market. Users have the ability to search practice areas such as Appellate, Corporate Securities, Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment, and Class Actions & Product Liability.

You do not need to log-in to access these offerings while on campus; however, if you plan to use Law.com from outside the UR network range, you’ll need to register for an account using this link. Follow these steps to complete your registration:

  1. Select the, “Create a New ALM Account” button
  2. Register using your UR email address
  3. Create a password with at least eight characters
  4. Enter Firm/Company as, “University of Richmond School of Law”
  5. Select, “Law Schools” from the “Job Area” drop down menu
  6. Select your appropriate title from the “Job Function” drop down menu
  7. Enter the Law School zip code: 23173
  8. Select, “Create Account”
  9. You will receive an email from Law.com confirming your subscription was successful

Once you’ve successfully registered you can use your credentials (UR email and chosen password) to take advantage of this resource while off campus. You can also navigate to other ALM offerings, like the National Law Journal, by selecting “Menu” and “Publications” in the top left-hand corner of the Law.com homepage, or via the Library’s A-Z Database Page.
