Reflecting on Contributions in the Business Development Field

At this point in time, I feel as though I have completed and contributed greatly to the tasks at hand at Three Ventures.  There have been two major tasks I have completed, in addition to smaller ones throughout the week.  The first major task I completed was a proposal for a brand looking to expand and partner with a major company.  I was given the information that needed to be included, and the software to create it.  The Principal, William Beatson, gave me free creative design which I was extremely excited about.  He sent me a previous proposal he had made for a client, so I knew about how long they were.  I thoroughly examined the brand of the company I was creating it for, and made sure the fonts, color scheme, and layout matched their branding.  I really appreciated the freedom I was given in being able to design the proposal.  Once I completed it, we went over it together and he gave me some tips and small changes to make.  He sent it to the client and they loved it and didn’t think anything else needed to be changed, so it was very fulfilling to hear that my work was appreciated so much by the client.

Throughout this internship, my other main task was creating another proposal that took much longer since it was a family who owned many restaurants.  I had to figure out another way to incorporate all of their information since they had two famous restaurants, yet I still needed to keep it short.  For this proposal, I was given even more freedom in choosing what information went in and how to do the layout since it would be different.  I had many discussions with the Principal, because although he initially recommended a certain format, I thought it might need to be slightly different since so much information needed to be put in.  After I brought these observations to the Principal’s attention, he ended up agreeing that it would look better if I did the format I suggested.  Once completed, I think I surpassed my creative design from my previous one and was extremely proud.  I was also very happy that the Principal listened to my perspective about the layout, even though he had not initially thought of it.  These two main proposals were for big clients and partners, so I felt fulfilled after receiving positive feedback from both.  Other smaller tasks, such as helping set up logistics throughout the week and providing feedback on certain tasks, are additional personal contributions I complete daily.  I feel that I have truly progressed and contributed greatly to tasks thus far, and look forward to learning more.
