Stanford’s Access Amazonia Project: Beyond the Gates of Splendor

Beyond the Gates of Splendor is a historic/ bibliographic documentary about five missionaries that attempt to spread the word of God to the Huaorani people of Ecuador. Things take a tragic turn for the five men and their wives continue their missionary work. Eventually they are able to change the Alca people’s way of life, ending the trend of violent spearings.
