I love languages and was instantly drawn to your story map. The most poignant point for me was the “Florida Forever After” slide because I instantly understood your desire to “resist assimilation”. While I haven’t immigrated or lived in other countries, my parents always spoke to me in Cantonese at home and English everywhere else. This idea of holding onto your roots while being able to explore more languages and cultures was an idea that you did a great job presenting and explaining. (I also loved all of the videos you included, the experience about connecting with migrant workers in Amman is so cool!)

This project is so well done, clear and concise! I really enjoyed learning about your experiences and you did a wonderful job articulating how each place has influenced who you are today, your current studies and your career aspirations. Great use of vocab and excellent job!

I thoroughly enjoyed your story map. It was extremely well written like Isabel said above. Your ability to use readings in your slides was impressive. I especially liked your use of assimilation when you traveled to Florida after Canada. Seems like you have been doing story maps for a while, great job!
