In some way or another, each of us is a Global Citizen. My particular Global Citizenry is expressed through the World’s Sea Turtles. Throughout my life I have been fascinated by Sea Turtles. From holding the as a favorite animal of my youth to witnessing the major shifts in my life as a result of that passion, my passion for Sea Turtles has effectively driven me to where I am today. When given the opportunity to design my own research paper or write about a chosen topic, it was very often related to Sea Turtles. Over the years, I performed more and more research on them, usually in conjunction with a project or paper for school. The more I looked, the more fascinated I became. With grounding in Sea Turtles, I also gained a passion for Geography, the Environment, and the world around us. As I go through my college years, these passions, formed from a love of Sea Turtles, compiled into my two majors. Looking into the future, thus even to a further effect, my majors in Environmental Studies and Geography and my passion for Sea Turtles will continue to shape my career path as I look to Geographical Information Systems.

I thought that this StoryMap was particularly informative. It had great use of visual aids such as the different pictures of the same turtles. In particular, it addressed the human-nature interactions in regards to the impact of our behaviors as humans on climate change and its effects on the sea turtle population in a variety of regions. I particularly enjoyed the survey as it leaves the viewer with a lasting impact about the presentation and allows you to collect information that would be helpful as you continue studying sea turtles. Overall, I am most impressed by the creativity in this presentation. I think you choose a topic that is very unique and were able to create a narrative that showed something about yourself and connected your love of sea turtles and geography. Great job!
