Love’s CoffeeMap
Second to crude oil coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world today and also holds the second position (after water) when ranking the most popular drinks. Therefore it suits as a perfect example on how consumption of a certain products has further impacts on our globalized world than just raising the profit of the local supermarket or coffee-shop where the product was bought.
This Storymap will follow the travel of a coffee bean from bean in Brazil to brew by the Uppsala based company Lindvalls Kaffe. It will examine how the marketing by the brand Lindvalls refuses to give the production site any acknowledgments and by doing so supporting the tough conditions for the farmers that this trade pattern leads to.
