Chalks are one of the most essential school supplies so that we can see chalks in many classrooms on our campus. In spite of their simple looks, it takes a long journey to get a box of chalks into our hands. A pack of Crayola White Chalk that consists of 12 bars, made by Crayola LLC, a worldwide artists’ supplies brand, costs only $0.53. In this storymap, it will be displayed whether it is a reasonable price for the whole journey of the chalks or not. The chalks’ process of being manufactured, stored, and sold will be announced respectively. While tracking the journey of Crayola chalks, the environmental concepts like geographic literacy, globalization, externalized cost, and environmental footprint will be discussed on the map.
