Robert Morelli Consumption Map

For my consumption map, I was inspired by the University of Richmond’s installation of a 204.8 kW solar array on the roof of the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness. Solar Panels, although they’ve been around for a couple of decades, are still a new market and it seems there is not much known by the general public of how to install these new green technologies, how they are made, and where those raw materials to make solar panels come from. By tracing the University of Richmond’s new found consumption of solar panels, we can have better understanding of how green technologies have a wider impact beyond just installation as well as identify geographic dimensions like barriers to entry, globalization, and cultural landscapes.
