The Environmental Impact of the Final Four-Ben LaRiviere

Economically, the NCAA Tournament generates multi billion dollar revenues every year and pours money into the host cities. For example, Dayton has realized $66 Billion since 2001 from hosting tournament games. Despite economically benefitting nearly all parties involved (besides the students), the NCAA Tournament and Final Four weekend have mixed impacts on the environment. This presentation will analyze the negative effects of the tournament as well the efforts of the NCAA to promote sustainability.
