Megan’s Global Citizen Story Map

As an environmental studies student at the University of Richmond, I choose to study environmental topics regarding conservation, human-nature interactions, land rights, environmental law, and ecology, to name a few. Through this Story Map, the viewer will walk through the events, experiences, and places that have shaped me into an environmentalist and nature-lover.

I love your descriptions of the places you’ve been, they’re so poetic! I think you really demonstrated your understanding of the nature-culture concept. Your Storymap is very inclusive and incorporates environmental themes on top of human uses of the land.

I love the narrative. It is well laid out and allows for us to see how each place affected you. I enjoyed the videos and links also. They gave outside perspectives on the area and show how it not only had an affect on you but others as well. It is a good example of human-nature interaction and how the nature in itself shaped who you are today. Overall great job!

Hi Megan!

You’re StoryMap is very thorough, and your narrative is clear. I like how you shared your story through the environment–very creative! Your adventures to Colorado and Peru prove that you really try to have a broad, global perspective on the world. The theme of nature-culture is prevalent in your story because the environments that you worked in had a great effect on your life choices. On a scale of 1-5, I give you a high five! Excellent job.
