I really liked your comments on how the crimes that send women to death row are very much breaking ‘gendered’ expectations. Reminds me a lot of our discussion of good/bad mothers in Breaking Women, especially in how racialized this constructs are. However, I would also agree that the death penalty should be abolished for all, rather than just women.
I had no idea about most of these statistics and histories behind the death penalty for women. As Sam said above, I would agree that we should abolish the death penalty altogether.
