After our class period spent with the librarian, I no longer felt as overwhelmed about the research that needed to be done. I had gained the tools from her needed to set a path for myself on how to find and analyze sources effectively. I chose the primary source on Bible Communism which was an eye-opening peek into what life was like for an everyday person living in Oneida. This interview helped to solidify information on my research question. Ultimately, I am looking to explore the topic of how the majority of Oneida youths rejected principle beliefs that the community was founded on. The information gathered from this interview gave me more relevant information on these foundational beliefs. I believe it was crucial to choose a source such as this because, in order to dive into the Oneida youth, my paper needs to establish what the beliefs are that were rejected by them. Therefore, I would like to pose the question of “Just how integral was the rejection of principle beliefs by the majority of the Oneida youth to the community’s failure?”
