Throughout the research process, I found myself revising my research question through broadening and then narrowing my focal points. I needed to adjust my scope. Some questions I found myself asking were…

“What drew these men and women to such a stringent community?”

“Did the founding members have a certain personality which encouraged them to find Oneida enticing?”

“How do the children feel about the life they were born into?”

“What aspects of the community contributed to its downfall? Did this ‘particular personality type’ have a role in the matter?”

…More was on my mind, however, these were some of the questions I found most relative which continued fueling my efforts.
