After having read Sutton’s background source on Icaria, I was particularly interested in the culture of the community as it seemed to be a large part of the community. After having delved deeper I found information on the culture of the community, but nothing seemed paritcularly unusual or unique. However, the culture side of things was always run by women and I decided to look into the female experience in Icaria. After having read more I discovered that their perception of Icaria was very different that the actual experience of Icaria for women. This is when I found my true arguement of the women of Icaria’s expectations were not met by the Icarian community.
