As we resumed normalcy this year at the University of Richmond, our seniors finally got a full year of (almost) regular college life, including a nice long graduation ceremony. You wouldn’t believe how long some people can stand up and talk while gripping a podium.
Nonetheless, congratulations are in order for a big crop of our students! Tyler Chong will be moving on to a Ph.D. program in chemistry at Columbia University next year, Joseph Coyle is off to law school at Temple, Mohamad Hussein will start graduate school at the University of Delaware, and Olivia Lambertson, of whom we are all envious, will be teaching in Spain, where the rain stays mostly on the plain. Former Spider and Downey Group member Alex Helbling graduated from Southern Miss, too, and will take a gap year before medical school. It’s been inspiring to work with this group and see them fight through a pandemic that hit in the spring of their first year of college. You get the feeling they’ll prepared for anything else that life can throw at them.
Best of luck in the future, class of 2023!
