Welcome to our page!
This site, born from The Sociology of The Black Family class at The University of Richmond, aims to add to the joy and complexity of Black familial life. With a focus on Black siblinghood, this project aims to gain a better understanding of the Black family. Through two interviews, we asked participants to reflect on their childhood experiences with a focus on the relationships in which they had with their siblings. These responses, coupled with empirical pieces, gave insight into siblings’ influences on development, life decisions, and how they presently navigate adulthood.
