If you do not see any currently listed open positions in the practice areas that interest you, try a different approach: browse the employers in Symplicity to find those that are engaged in a practice area of interest. To find employers, click on the “Employers” tab (little spaceship icon) and then “Employer Directory.” Enter a search term (such as “family,” or “trusts,” or “criminal”) to find employers engaged in practice areas that interest you. Some of these employers recruit annually, but some do not, creating an opportunity for you to reach out.
Once you are in the profile of an employer that appeals to you, click on the “job leads” tab. You will see positions that have been posted in the past, even if the employer has not posted anything recently. These postings may contain information, such as contact information and usual application time frames, enabling you to contact the employer and submit an application. If you cannot tell whether an employer has hired this year (employers participating in OCI, for instance, will not have posted any positions in Symplicity), reach out to your career advisor to find out more about the employer’s hiring practices.
