McGuireWoods’ annual Diversity Scholarship Program will award up to eight $5,000 scholarships to diverse rising second-year law students with an expected graduation year of 2018, who are committed to contributing to and supporting diversity within the legal profession. Applicants are considered based on their involvement in community activities and diversity-related student organizations, personal achievements, and law school and undergraduate academic performance. Womble Carlyle will award scholarships to two diverse second-year law students who present solid academic credentials, personal or professional achievement outside the school environment, and a record of significant community service. The scholarship of $30,000 will be payable over two years, and recipients will be expected to work as summer associate for 8 weeks at the firm after their 2L year. Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where individual differences are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as sources of strength of the firm. The firm will award three scholarships of $10,000 to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2016.
