To encourage interest in local government internships and careers, the Board of Governors of the Local Government Law Section of the Virginia State Bar (VSB) will award a $4,000 fellowship to a law student who interns with a Virginia county, city, or town attorney’s office this summer.

The fellowship will be awarded either in its entirety to one outstanding first- or second-year law student who has committed to working full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks at a Virginia local government attorney’s office during the summer of 2016, or divided between two students working full-time for a minimum of 5 weeks each. The fellowship is open to students from in- and out-of-state law schools.

To apply, complete the application form and submit with a personal statement of interest, resume and transcript by email in .pdf, .doc, or .rtf format no later than April 1, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
