Noah Film

This film, like many other texts we read in this class, is it’s own rewriting of the original Noah story. However, Aronofsky adds another message using aspects from the original. His main message is that humans can be good beings, but at the same time can be ignorant and detrimental to the environment. Just like a midrash, Aronofsky uses concepts from the Noah story but adds a creative flair to make it relevant and connectable to the modern day. For instance, he uses depictions of 21st century ideas like The Big Bang, evolution, and modern weaponry to make the issues presented with humanity timeless.
