Jewish Interpreters

We started talking about gender-related beliefs the ancient people had and how that influenced their interpretations of the text. Essentially all of the arguments/solutions don’t seem plausible such as: Eve sleeping with the serpent, Adam the drunkard, Adam being mistaken for God, and Eve and the serpent sharing a birthday. Most of these solutions lead to even more questions. They provide explanation for some cultural norms (gender roles), but they are still implausible. Some of their solutions question the authority of God.
