Today we discussed Gen 1-2 in depth. We focused on word choice, and how the translator came to make decisions on how to portray the text.  Niditch focuses very much on the differentiation of the sexes. Sarna focuses on word choice based on the language and translation while Speiser talks about the historical context of the text.
