Genesis 1-3

We discussed how certain portions of the text may have conflict between literary and figurative interpretations (ex. six days of creation and death from eating the fruit). This text contains several etiologies such as the relationship between God and man, humans and animals, and man and woman. It also explains why there is suffering and pain in the world. We also compared differences between the Priestly source and the Yahwist source. Also, we explored problems in the text that could result in a retelling of the story (ex. why did Adam eat the fruit).
