Unit 1 Review- Kevin, Parr and Sharon

This unit is about the different ways people can interpret one text, and the reasons they do so. First the Greeks showed us that the situation of someone dramatically changes how they view an event. Then we focused on the Old Testament. Some people think that it was written by one person (Mosaic View), while others think it is a combination of different writers (Documentary Hypothesis). Next the specific ways of reading the Bible were examined. There are many ways to do this, including both historical and allegorical. From all of this we learned how to analyze different perspectives and think critically, remembering that the Bible will always be interpreted in different ways by different people.
