We discussed the intricate history of bible translations and how these effect the way different faiths and people read their scriptures. We then discussed how the bible may have been interpreted among different historical contexts, throughout many generations. For example, in today’s society Christian’s tend to value the gospels as the most important part of the bible, but in the first century, Christians would have valued Acts and the prophets all around them more. Overall our discussion lead to some valuable insight on the way people take in the bible on both contemporary and historical bible perspectives. One example would be the split between the Jewish and Christian languages use of the Septuagint- the Jews abandoned the Septuagint because the Christians were using it exclusively.
