Final Project: Modern Rappers Commentary on Gender, Sexuality, and Race

For my final project, I want to look at the works of some of the most influential rappers of the 21st century which include Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole. I think that these rappers all exhibit different messages about gender expectations, the treatment of female sexuality , and struggles of class and racism through their music. I want to explore commonalities between their works and find reasons and motives for how they developed their individual views and the method in which they conveyed them.
