In class, we briefly studied disability and its portrayal in opera. For my final essay, I will attempt to analyze more in-depth, disability in musical theatre and how it has particularly evolved from earlier centuries into the 21st century in western culture. In addition, this research will likely intersect with themes such as race and gender.
