Elise Favia says: I don’t believe you can apply the extreme value theorem as you have in part d. You have attempted to use the converse of the theorem to prove the problem statement false, but we do not know the converse holds, since the EVT is not an if and only if.
You can, however, use the contrapositive of the EVT to prove part c false.
