Docetism

There are two forms of Docetism: one that Jesus is fully divine and his human form is an illusion, and the other that Jesus was human, but was occupied by the fully divine Christ at his baptism and until the moment before his death. In the Gospel of Peter, Christ did not feel pain when being crucified, because he was fully divine. Also, Jesus asks why he was left behind and the divine went up. Proto-orthodox don’t like it because his death and suffering was the most important belief of theirs and docetism does not allow for it. Some proto-orthodox believers question Docetism because they risked their lives and suffered for Christ, so if Christ did not suffer then their pain is worth nothing.
