Are you looking for a meaningful way to help shape the law school experience for yourself and your classmates? The Law Library is recruiting new members from the 1L class to join SLATE (Student Library and Technology Exchange)!
SLATE is the library’s student advisory group, made up of law students from each class. Together, SLATErs and the library faculty work to ensure the library meets the needs of the entire student body. As a member, you’ll be the library’s “eyes and ears,” providing valuable feedback on services, resources, and programs.
We meet a few times each semester (with free lunch at meetings!) to discuss SLATE perspectives on how the library is doing. I, Mads, your Student Services Librarian, may also occasionally ask for feedback on library initiatives via email. Additionally, members get a first look at library events and can help share them with classmates. Finally, SLATE members are encouraged, but not required, to guest write a short post for the library blog.
We’re looking for a variety of perspectives — whether you’re in the library daily or rarely step foot inside. Your perspective is important, and we really do listen to student feedback!
Interested in joining? Email Mads at madeleine.ball@gmail.com. No formal application requirements.
