The law library offers several study rooms perfect for group work. Each room includes a whiteboard and a screen for collaboration. However, we understand that the self-locking doors sometimes present a problem. You might find yourself locked out, or need to knock to be let in by someone already inside.
To solve this, we’ve introduced custom doorstops! These handy little devices, designed and crafted by Professor Jack Preis, prevent the doors from unexpectedly locking. The doorstops are finished to match the library’s wood, blending seamlessly with the existing décor.
Check out these handy instructions that Carl Hamm created:
Using the door stop allows for:
- Easy entry and exit: No more fumbling with locks or knocking to get in! This is especially helpful when multiple students arrive at different times.
- Uninterrupted study sessions: The open door allows for a more relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, without the disruption of having to constantly unlock and lock the door.
- Improved flow: It makes coming and going during study sessions much easier and less stressful.
Please use the door stops to keep your study room door open, and remember to return them to their designated place on the door jamb when you leave.
