AccessLex Institute is a nonprofit organization that works to maximize the value and affordability of a law degree through policy advocacy, research, and student-focused initiatives. To that end, AccessLex maintains scholarship and writing competition databanks, making it easier for students (and recent grads) to find money to help pay for law school and lower their student loan burdens.
Both databanks can be searched and filtered using various criteria, like award amount, application deadline, and other writing or applicant requirements. Limitations regarding the use of award funding are specified in the scholarship descriptions. Most often, awards are to be applied toward tuition expenses; however, there are scholarships that cover living expenses, books, or bar study expenses.
